At Macy J.’s middle school in Choctaw, Oklahoma, the eighth grade class trip is an exciting milestone to look forward to. But for Macy’s mom, Lindsay, it started off as a source of apprehension. “I was a little bit hesitant at first because [my family had] never done anything like this. At the informational meetings, they were talking about taking all of these kids to Boston, getting them on and off an airplane, and I thought, there’s no way this can happen.” So, Lindsay decided to join the trip as a chaperone to keep an eye on her child.
As the tour went on, Lindsay got to see EF’s safety measures with her own eyes. She felt especially impressed with the group’s personal security officers stationed at each of their hotels, as well as their Tour Director’s deep knowledge of the locations they visited. She grew to feel completely confident in EF—and in Macy’s ability to travel with or without her guidance. As Lindsay says, “I would [now] send my kid by herself with EF any day of the week. They are 100% safe, and everyone involved—the bus drivers, the Tour Directors, the local guides—all have your kids’ safety in mind 100% of the time.”
After an incredible experience exploring Boston and New York City with Macy, Lindsay’s planning on joining her middle daughter’s EF tour to Italy in 2022. But this time, it isn’t due to any safety concerns. “I would 100% send her without me and feel very comfortable doing so,” Lindsay says. “This time, selfishly, I’m just going because I want to go to Italy.”
